San Diego County Childhood Obesity Initiative
Before relocating to San Diego with her family, Camellia was the Director of Program Operations in the Office of Diversity and Inclusion at NYC Health + Hospitals, the country’s largest municipal public hospital system. In this role, she oversaw programmatic and workforce development programs improving health equity, access and patient-centered care, and spearheaded the health system’s first Plan to Enhance Equitable Care. Prior to this role, Camellia most recently served as Executive Director of the Take Care New York initiative at the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, where she led the development, design and reporting for the citywide public health agenda and stakeholder engagement strategy. A native of Arizona, Camellia received her undergraduate degree in Political Science and African Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and her Master of Public Health degree in Health Policy and Administration from Yale University.
